CD Cover Design Brief

I need a logo design for my debut album. I want a logo with the letters "AR". However, I don't want the letters to be obvious in the design. I want the logo to be aggressive, modern and sleek-looking. I like extremes, so either simple color combinations (black, white and gray) or "explosive" color combinations that really attract the eye. I've attached a few examples a designer friend of mine did (but couldn't finish the project due to personal reasons). They're a good place to start, but I've also attached a sketch of the direction I'd like the logo to go (sleeker and less obvious on the letters).
