Company
A new silver jewellery company based in London, UK. We are competing against other large jewellery brands in the same field would include Tiffany, Links of London, Boodles, Pandora. We aim to differentiate ourselves from the competition through our modern chic brand image and our product offering which represents the feeling of sophistication and character.
Products
The jewellery is meant to be of beautiful design, of limited edition, at affordable prices. The company aims to select specific designers offering jewellery that is commercially marketable yet beautiful. We want our clients to feel glamorous and special wearing our unique products. The brand value the company wishes to express is that of modern chic aesthetic and classic elegance. This unique quality will be represented within the brand and the products. The designs will be selective and will encompass aesthetics of movement, flexibility, curvaceous asymmetry, and natural flow. They will consist of the following features (but not limiting):
- Silver-based jewellery
- two-tonal/multi-tonal effects i.e. gold plate on silver, brushed silver on silver, etc
- Inspired generally by nature; geology - free forming, flowing features
- Non-organic finishes. Slick, fine lines, elegant, clean, modern.
Logotype
The brief would be to draw a new logotype - modern, sophisticated, characterful but understated.
Our company aims to provide work that is new, exciting and desirable and our logotype can capture that spirit.
Our idea for two-tonal and multi-tonal products is interesting and inspiring because it implies depth - in use of materials and colours but also the different ideas and stories behind the pieces and the craftspeople.
This, together with the idea of making work that is limited in number but not prohibitively expensive, gives our company a strong and individual story to tell.
The final design has to capture this image and feel.

Certain submissions have been made in the last two days which require further consideration. Please allow us time to fairly consider these too.
Thank you to those who submitted promptly and at an earlier stage of the project. Your designs have been looked at in more depth. Some good designs have been listed at the top of our list.
We also need more time to consider the designs we feel have the most potential. This includes designs from early submission and designs received in the last two days. Please bare with us.
OUR HONEST FEEDBACK:
None of the designs are perfect for our brand image but we are working with each of you to get closer to a final result.
The ones who have the most potential we are keeping close communication and a close eye on. while this is true we do not disregard the efforts of all submissions. We feel all designers are making good efforts. So thank you.
This is an important process for Helenore to build a strong brand image from the foundation. Without the correct logotype and logo for our brand we can not compete against the best jewellery companies in the market. This means taking time and settling on only the best.
COLOURS:
We understand that we offered images to inspire your designs which had predominantly RED in them. while we are steering towards these colours, we do not want any of our designers to limit their ideas to just 'black/white/red'. Please use colours which you feel will work well and be creative. Helenore does not have a COLOUR brand YET even if we are 'considering' the 'RED' colour at the moment.
LOGOTYPE:
By logotype we mean the WORD 'Helenore'. We are looking for 'UNIQUE' fonts.
One person designed a FONT for us which shows our perfect ideal as to what we want - ultimately. But if you design your own font we want to have ownership of this font and you will still be the original owner as it's creator. This does not mean however that just because you design a font for Helenore that we will pick you. The font has to suit our company image first and foremost. But you have BETTER chances if you do make your OWN FONT style.
Furthermore, even if you do not design your own type font, we WILL accept FONTS which are AVAILABLE ONLINE but with some limits:
1) We do not want to use a font which is widely used or available online i.e. a lot of you use Tarjan which is used a lot.
2) Try to pick a 'limited availability' font to download from online, and make a small edit to it to make it unique i.e. someone used a wonderful limited availability font and edited the R letter which made it made it even more unique and it looked beautiful and we like that effort!
***REMEBER a logotype is the image of a brand and having a unique font makes the brand unique! ***
LOGO:
We like the effort from a lot of submissions who supplied a LOGO which complements the 'Helenore' logotype.
We are looking for any submissions now which will supply a logotype which works with a logo. We want to know that if the logo stands alone then EVERYONE will be able to tell that the logo is 'Helenore' brand.
In the face of this, we like one or two logos which were arbitrary but we also liked logos which were 'H' letters.
We have decided that the best logo would be a 'H' logo which will be supplied to us alongside the Helenore logotype.
Consider for example, Gucci and the GG symbol, Louise Vuitton and their LV symbol.
*****NOTE*****: We are making a special request for designers to consider the following alternative option:
SPECIALIST/CUSTOM LOGOTYPE:
A couple of designers have offered/accepted the request to design a 'signature' logotype for 'Helenore' as an alternative design. We really appreciate you taking on this challenge and wish to give you more time to work on this.
If you want to consider this option we would like you to create an interesting signature that Helenore would sign off as.
To get inspiration of what we mean look at 'Christian Louboutin', 'Thomas Sabo', 'Salvatore Ferragamo', Paul Smith' who use their signatures as a LOGOTYPE. Even Walt Disney and Cadbury have done that to a certain level!
We would like however that the 'H' in the signature would also be able to stand alone as a logo if necessary i.e. the Christian Louboutin CL shape looks like a shoe since he is one of the world's major shoe designers AND this shape can be recognised as his signature all over the world!
Use your imagination and let us know what you can come up with.
Remember stick to our KEY characteristics - although we love simplicity we do not want overly simple. Also classic does not mean 'classical', 'elaborate', 'decorative', it means 'modern classic' and 'chic elegance' - there is a fine line and we want middle of the way classic beauty combined with modern feel and judgement.
PERSONIFICATION:
Our perfect combination is Monica Bellucci crossed with Kate Moss - a classic beauty who has a modern and forward looking sophistication and elegance, crossed with a London Style fierce and modern chic style icon who has a classic model look - the London Look! Kate Middleton (Princess Kate) is a modern beautiful young woman with classic chic elegance and taste!
Key image: Elegant, sophisticated, modern, chic, understated yet not too simple!
*** NOTE: we wish to keep continued communication with each of you so please check back with us!***
We will contact each individual designer separately. Please bare with us.
We hope this helps and we look forward to seeing more of your work. At this moment in time we are not ready to invest in a logo yet.
Thank you to all involved.

It would be nice to have a feel of the IMAGE we want to portray. 'Classy and elegant' like the pretty girls, the colours of cherry red, ivory and black combinations, the materials of lace, silk, net, velvet, the glamorous women from the golden era of Dior.... BUT.... to be 'modern and slick', like the youthfulness and playfulness of the pretty girls, 21st century independent bold red lipstick wearing woman, eclectic design and clean curves of the red coat and the white staircase, minimalism and simplicity you can feel from the photographs......
