Logo Design Brief

The new site "TiDev" will bring news, rumours, tips & tricks, book reviews, event coverage and more related to Appcelerator's Titanium (appcelerator.com/titanium) tooling for creating native mobile apps for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Tizen and more platforms expected.

It's important to understand that we focus on the free and open source Titanium product and not on the company as a whole and their commercial product branded as Appcelerator.

The final design should communicate both our relation to Titanium as well as us being independent, community-driven. The logo should fit our ambition of becoming the developers' main, reliable source for information on Titanium.

Target Market(s)

1) Developers using Titanium, 2) Developers and decision makers considering Titanium, 3) Titanium watchers (press, online media).

Requirements

Must have

• Apart from black/white, just use one color in the logo only. Please accompany the design with a palette of alternative colours to be used either in the logo or for the site and other design work to be done later. The logo must be usable in black/white only as well. We also need to be able to use (part of) it in a square avatar. The logo should play nice with a slogan underneath the logo. We like flat design.

Nice to have

• The name "TiDev" comes from the already popular #TiDev hashtag used by Titanium developers on Twitter. We don't want the hashtag to be in the logo, but just so you know ;)

Should not have

• Times New Roman, complex color schemes, shades, glows, skeuomorphism. Also don't use the Titanium emblem, since we're an unofficial, independent resource.
