If you see the article [Non image link removed]it is all about removing the cash counter at the stores. I am imagining an exploding cash wrap in a comic book style, but I am not sure if that will look too violent. I really like what fastcodesign.com does with its illustrations and 2D graphics. the color palette has to be as you see on [Non image link removed]which is yellow,greys and various shades of black. I am not an expert on illustrations but for styling please look at fastcodesign.com as I think they illustrations are modern but still smart. The image will be placed one the main webpage in a landscape style as well as linkedin as part of sponsored updates. To see how an sponsoored content looks you can just see linkedin newsfeed

I have seen the both websites that you have provided, but I didn't find any illustrations, I have seen pictures, but not illustrations.
I think that will be better if you explain better what is the design/illustration that you need and upload some pictures of styles that you like in the brief.
