T-shirt Design Brief
Please help me reflect Sarasota Lifestyle (Sarasota, FL) through a UNIQUE series of t-shirt designs. In this brief, I hopefully will prove what is and what isn't Sarasota Lifestyle. Please look below at the image files I've uploaded: 9 photos are mine reflecting the icons that define Sarasota and Sarasota lifestyle. Our lifeguard stands are unique. Our pace is slower. We value our weekly drum circles with this percussionist pictured an icon. Anyone who knows Sarasota would know the Ringling Causeway bridge and Grande Riviera domed building to the right. Probably 1000s of photos with this composition. We try to remain quiet and under the radar with no flashy, art-deco, bikini-clad vibe. It's the simple, rustic lifestyle, attracting mostly Midwesterners (USA) from small northern towns. I've attached several designs I've found on the Internet that I like (for various reasons). To help you AVOID generic, whimsical designs that waste your and my time, I'm hoping my photos combined with design elements I've found on the Internet that I like will inspire you to create UNIQUE designs. Please visit my active Facebook community at www.facebook.com/SarasotaLifestyle for an additional look and feel of what IS Sarasota, FL, and THE Sarasota Lifestyle I live and present.
Updates
Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Too many designers who've submitted designs chose not to read my project brief. Sarasota is NOT California or surfboards/big waves. I'm not interested in generic, template-like design submissions that look as if they've been used for every beach location around the world. I've provided examples of designs I like. I've also provided photos that I own & snapped that portray UNIQUE Sarasota elements that uniquely define Sarasota. discerning Sarasota from every other coastal beach area. PLEASE only submit after you've glanced at the brief on which I've tried to be specific. I respect your time. This is the first of what I hope will be several t-shirt designs, promoting MY version of the Sarasota Lifestyle. Thank you. -Mike Payne

Requirements
Must have
- 1) Design should look good on 4 specific t-shirt colors: a) white, b) *coral, c) *blue, charcoal heather: Blue > HTML code: #06A9E2; RGB code: R: 6 G: 169 B: 226); charcoal heather; and coral > HTML code:#C04967RGB code:R: 192 G: 73 B: 103)
- 2) Design should present many different looks including full color, bright, faded/weathered, and muted.
- 3) Design should present on models (men, women, kids) in the following shirt styles: Men = crew neck ; Women = crew neck, tank tops, low neck; Kids = crew & tank tops
- 4) Design MUST have unique elements/design, defining the Sarasota Lifestyle: A simple, relaxing coastal beach lifestyle celebrating vintage and good vibes, not chaotic, clustered living.
- 5) Design must integrate text & image, incorporating "Sarasota, Florida" into the design. Among the samples I've uploaded to this brief, it's the "Sunset Beach, Ca" that most closely matches my INITIAL vision of a t-shirt design.
- 6) Sarasota's lifeguard stations are unique to Sarasota (photo below). Sarasota's Ringling Causeway bridge is unique to Sarasota.
- PLEASE don't hesitate to ask me questions. I value your time and skills. You're the professional designer. I welcome your guidance and vision.
Nice to have
- 1) Sunset Beach design. I like the circular, tight design w/ prominent lettering.
- 2) Beach of California design. For my design, I want it to look good in many different gradations from full color to muted to monotone (i.e. faded white, blue, heather, etc complimenting the color of shirt). With a few muted colors this design reveals a vintage vibe.
- 3) San Diego Surf. I not praising this design. Rather, I like the 2-color design.
- 4) Mad Fish. I like the one color design on various colored t-shirts, contrasting and looking good. This is a must have: a design that can change color and still look good on various colored t-shirts.
Should not have
- 1) No generic designs w/ surfboards/surfers that match 1000s on the Internet.
- 2) Sarasota Florida is an older demographic (see above). We are NOT South Beach Miami or fast-paced East Coast Florida or California. No surfing, surfboards, big waves, or big-chested girls strolling around in skimpy 2-piece bikinis.
- 3) No templates. Though I could be mistaken, I think I've seen EVERY design currently marketed/advertised for a "beach" location/event.
