Catch The Sun Communications is a freelance communications company which mainly specialises in proofreading and copywriting. It services its clients remotely, with a main office in Canberra, Australia, but has clients all over the world, with a high client concentration in the UK and Australia.
The company employs freelance proofreaders and copywriters around the world to help service clients. The idea is that the time zone difference between the UK and Australia can be used as a positive for clients – in essence, creating a 24-hour office by following the sun around the globe, 'catching' it and harnessing its power to get jobs done urgently. Clients in the UK can be serviced by proofreaders and copywriters in Australia ‘overnight’, because the UK night is the Australian working day; and clients in Australia can be serviced by proofreaders and copywriters in the UK ‘overnight’, because the Australian night is the UK working day.
The company's strapline is:
Around the world, around the clock.
We need a logo design which is modern, stylish, friendly and cool. I would like it to visually reference a sun in some way, but I want it to look modern, not old and cliched. I want the fonts used to look modern and stylish too. I don't want the logo to look like something out of the 1980s!
The logo will need to work across a number of different formats, including on letterhead and business cards, on a website, on email signatures, on social media accounts (Facebook profile and banner; Twitter profile and banner) and potentially across other advertising material.

Requirements
Must have
- It must look modern, cool, fun, funky, contemporary and friendly (design, font).
- It must be able to work or be adapted to work across a range of different media, including social media (Facebook & Twitter profiles and banners), letterheads, website, etc. etc.
Nice to have
- I would like it to include a modern, stylised visual of a sun if possible, although I will consider other options too. Hand illustrated sun visuals would be good. I like modern fonts. I don't really like ALL CAPS. Having the words 'Catch the Sun' written in normal (modern) font and then 'Communications' written in a modern cursive style would be good – or the other way around too. Yellow/orange/red (for sun) + blue/green are good colours, but open to options.
Should not have
- Shouldn't look dated or like something from Clip Art.
