Logo Design Brief

First and foremost, we thank you in advance for your consideration and attention to this logo design.

We are a "by appointment only" bridal gown boutique servicing one bride to be at a time offering one of a kind well constructed dresses in the $2,000 to $20,000 price range. Our dresses are a blend of European design (classic) and American quality (contemporary).

We want to encourage your creativity and without clouding your judgement we have attached an example of how we like the words Something New to look.

What we liked about the attachment is the big loops in the lettering especially in the S, T, H, G, & N. We are not crazy about the color at all and may be more into a simple black lettering for the logo.

One of us the scrolling borders, corners, or outline to maybe be used to frame up the logo and the other prefers a simple logo so we are both excited to see what looks best.

Also our thought is it might look better to have "Something New" in the big looping curving letters and then "Bridal Boutique" below it in smaller modern looking plan print style below it. Kind of like the first image the shows a different smaller font for the word "entertainment".

We are leaning toward a mixture of classic and contemporary and something that looks relevant and tasteful for a higher end retail store. We are thinking of the lettering for Lord & Taylor, Nieman Marcus, or the Saks Fifth Avenue black and white logos as examples.

Our retail boutique interior has tan wood flooring with grey walls and thick white base boards and crown molding with fixtures crystal chandeliers and framed up mirrors. The walls also have molded rectangle picture frames. It has a Victoria Secret type feel with selected refinished antique furniture pieces and a blend of classic and modern styling. I only share this so you get an idea of the image we are trying to project to the patron.

We have not been crazy about using an image of something like a bride, dress, or veil, in our logo to go along with the lettering logo as nothing seems creative, relevant, and classy/contemporary enough. If you have something in mind like for an simple image let us know.

Again we think it may be better to keep the image to something that could look great even if it where faxed. I say that knowing that no one faxes much anymore but when you do many of the details, like complex scrolling, gets lost.

In closing, these are our thoughts but again we are open to your creativity as well...Good Luck to us both and thank you again for your efforts!

Target Market(s)

Regarding our target demographic, the average age for a female getting married statisically is 27. That would mean we are likely targeting females between 25-35 or another words someone born between 1988 to 1978 who graduated high school around 2006 to 1996. Also bear in mind their parents are 50-70 who may be paying for the dress as well.

Regarding our geographic market, Central Florida is a market where everyone is from somewhere else. Mainly we have a lot of north easterners and a large hispanic population.

Regarding our target shopper, we are a small boutique that is by appointment only that caters to the upper middle to upper price range shopper paying $2,000 to $20,000 per dress. Based on the current governmental and economic mindset we want to project an image of quality luxury meaning high end without being too flashy and in your face.
