Logo Design Brief
We are in the process of renaming and rebranding our Non-Profit 501 C-3 Non-Profit Organization from the name Waking the Passion to Journey 2 Freedom. We need a Journey2Freedom logo. You can go to our website which needs an over haul but we are waiting to gather all the pieces to change the name. www.wakingthepassion.com Our task is to create a logo which reflects a masculine feel of adventure, camaraderie, courage, spirituality and connects to both non-religious and religious men between the ages of 20 - 70 years old. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Leading men to experience more authentic connections to God, others, and themselves. OUR VISION STATEMENT: Seeing men transformed through the power of: *transparent and vulnerable friendships, *boundless grace and love from God *discovering one's true design, and *courageously living out their destiny without shame. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE, MEN WHO ARE:
*Isolated in a crowded, hurried world...including church = LONELINESS *Turned off by organized religion and distorted images of God
*Searching for significance in something more than possessions, performance, and power

Risk OUR STRATEGIES: THE GETAWAY WEEKENDS: They are for the men of: *Churches and their pastors (Church Partnership Initiative) *Men's organizations and their leaders (Faith Partnership Initiative) and *Individual men who are thirsty for authenticity and real connection. THE PURPOSE OF THE GETAWAY IS TO RETREAT and: RECONNECT, RESTORE, and RECREATE. (It is enhanced by the setting of an "upscale man cave country lodge", on a private lake, in a forest of trees, amazing food and beverage, short teaching sessions, interactive small groups, and welcomed sense of " I'M NOT ALONE, OTHER MEN HAVE SIMILAR BATTLES AND ARE WILLING TO HELP and NOT JUDGE" CURRENTLY: The Getaway Weekend/Church Partnership Initiative is and will be our Primary focus for the next 12 - 18 months. ADDITIONAL STRATEGIC EVENTS will be imlemented as the right leadership and manpower surfaces. THEY ARE: Wild Game Dinners, Adventure Trips, Round Table Discussion Groups, Humanitarian Service Trips and more In "the end", it is not about reaching "the end" but discovering the freedom of being true to myself and living the journey as my story unfolds. Please look at these compasses to see what I'm trying to describe. The words Journey 2 Freedom could go on the inside or maybe the outside.As a foundation for the logo, I would like to use an antique/vintage round compass (with earthy tones gold/brass, tan/brown or copper outer finish) and a needle with the N S on each end.Clear everything off the inner face of the compass except for N-S-E-W at their respective positions,(if the N-S-E-W crowd out too much space, then feel free to edit out. The needle color might be dark brown or black or you may not need a needle. (Color of the inner face would be like the color of really old antique paper (from off-white, to brownish yellow)I would like for the inner surface to look like old antique paper with a water mark of a bible passage on it. Here is the Bible verse. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me and He hath anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives, and recover sight to the blind, and set the oppressed free." Here is a picture of a compass with the word success added to the inner face. Project Deadline Extended Reason: To Designers and Design Crowd staff, I apologize for the delayed selection on my logo. I wrote a letter last night but I can't find it. So I am repeating the explanation in the snow. Part of the reason for delay was the medical care of my elderly mom 300 miles away.. I just returned this past Tuesday and today Friday, I have been consumed with preparing to whether the huge storm approaching our area and is supposed to last for five days. Will you please allow for an additional week at the completion of my current extension.Dear designers. Thank you for your creative and thoughtful ideas for our Journey 2 Freedom logo with the J2F and Live Real tag lines. I have decided that The symbol I like best and want to use is the Circle with graphics incorporated into a Compass. I would like to have the letters/words journey to freedom wrapping on the outside or the inside of the circle with Compass icons Inc. as well also use The J to air and the tagline live real as well. Project Deadline Extended Reason: The reason for extension request is the distraction of Hurricane Harvey has overwhelmed our community with many friends having lost everything. - I would like to see the following bible text on anas a subtle watermark on the surface of the Compass inner face)? of the comcould the inner face have subtle watermark of text/print the antique compass pages from the Bible with the following text:
- See about wrapping the Journey 2 Freedom around the outer edge of the compassand add the number 2 between each word Journey 2 Freedom and a different look with it wrapped around the inner edge of the compass.
- Maybe try it with the J2F added to the center inner surface of the compass.
- Consider combining the J2F letters into some kind of connected logo / I would still like to see the difference between adding Journey 2 Freedom to go along with the logo or If the words could wrap around a globe with the number 2 . Put Journey on top half of globe/circle and Freedom on the bottom side. I like the color blue, kind of colonial blue. But I'm totally open to using other colors if the professionals like yourselves believe another color by a couple of shades or totally different color works best .
