Logo Design Brief

We are rebranding our dance company and need a new logo to go with our new name and our energetic new team. We teach West Coast Swing, which is a partner dance often danced to Top40-type music but with our own special hip-hop-esque, street flavour to it. The final design should be sleek and modern, relatively simple but a bit 'street' or edgy too.

Open to colour palettes - we were thinking black/gold or black/a fluoro colour to make it pop, but totally open to suggestions. Preferably not black and red though (most of our competitors use those colours).

• I'm looking to have the logo screenprinted on tshirts so it would be nice if the logo would be distinctive on the dance floor (wouldn't necessarily have to be readable, just distinctive - i.e. I quite like the look of the grunge/distressed rubber stamp-type logos, so although it may not be readable from far away on a shirt, it would still be recognisable).
• A play on the word revolution as it relates to dance (i.e. spin, circle, spiral) could be a nice way to link any shapes in.
