Logo Design Brief

The scanned & attached design (circle, shovel, pick and Tommyknocker) is not my own but represents the general concept that I want.

I'd like to see the shovel & pickaxe with more detail/more realistic and the Tommyknocker more mischievous/friendly than angry, also a better carbide lantern on the front of his helmet. He can even emerge in front of the bottom of the circle a little bit to create more depth in the badge.

The date should be centered below the main circle in a vintage banner and Ouray CO should be at the top of the circle; I've just drawn out a rough sketch but feel free to change the scale/design.

I'd like it to be a two-color design - yellow and black - same as in the mine tour brochure and/or the banner files that are also also attached.
