Poster Design Brief

Create a movie poster for my crime/ thriller film, Cottonwood. The film is about a detective in the middle of a murder investigation who gets into a bad car accident and forgets everything. A young detective is assigned to the case and must work with the old detective to solve the cases.

The movie is based in a small fictional town in Minnesota called Cottonwood. The movie is strongly based around the lake in town called Cottonwood Lake.

I am looking for a gritty poster. Visually speaking I want something very original. An idea I had would be to do the poster in a hand painted look like the Indiana Jones and Star Wars movie posters. Like an oil painted look. Be creative though! By no means necessary does it have to be in this style. I want you to do what you think is right and bring your artistic flair to this project! This is a dark film and I want to show that through the poster. The murderer's weapon is an axe and the murders are all violent. I am including photos of the young and old detective in various poses. Choose which ones you think work the best. I am also including photos of the police chief and newspaper reporter. They are more minor characters in the film, but still important. The newspaper reporter and police chief do not need to be on the posters for sure, but the young and old detective need to be on there for sure.

I am including pictures of the lake from various angles along with some other images from the film. Choose what you like.

Include a temporary credit block and we will add the names and credits.

Movies that inspired me for Cottonwood included Se7en, Black Mass, and Zodiac.
