Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new artist on our music record label called "Babylon Burner". The music to be released on this label will be Grime music (so, artists like Wiley, Roll Deep, So Solid Crew, Stormzy, Skepta, BBK, Jme, Spooky, Kano and Ghetts are all relevant reference points).
The definition of "Babylon" found here is most accurate in this particular context:

No. 2:
"The state, the system, particularly when corrupt or authoritarian. Also the police, as they are the agents of the threat of force that the state derives it's power from."

In terms of the main image/motif it will be a 2D logo (feel free to do a 3D version also if within your capability and timescale).
The logo will consist of a perculiar shaped Babylonian style pyramid with the image of a lion embedded in the centre. The pyramid will engulfed in a flame. The alternative to this is a Lion about to devour the burning pyramid. We are more keen on the first idea but open to the second if it is done well.

The text below the motif should read: Babylon Burner and be in blue font with a gold outline.

The final design should reflect power and strength within it's symbolic nature but also showing that the superpower is not invincible (hence the fire). You could also experiment with the effect of the flame on the pyramid - hence covering the "Burner" element of the name in the logo. There is definitely a relevance to politics, power, corruption, the bad & the ugly side of government and ruling system controls the world.

Another reference point could be Jamaican reggae soundsystems as there are parallels with current grime music culture and both grime and dubstep have been influenced by/born out of the soundsystem culture.

Requirements

Must have

• The core details:
• - Lion or Lion's head
• - Babylonian style pyramid
• - Flame/fire
• N.B.
• The logo will be used on cover art for digital releases (mp3's/WAV) and also 12 inch vinyl releases also so must look good on screen and on paper.

Nice to have

• Text in Blue with gold outline.
• A 2D and 3D version of logo.
• Lion could have a crown but if it looks tacky or cheapens the design then leave it out. We are open to your own interpretations based on the brief but please bear in mind the target audience and the market which the logo is required for.
• Speakers/speaker boxes could be incorporated into the design but this might make it too cluttered. The design should not be too overcomplicated or complex. People need to be able to look at it and get the vibe straight away. Remember it should also lend itself well to supporting cd/vinyl/digital release artwork that will vary from track to track.

Should not have

• No weapons or guns or drugs or anything to do with violence or crime.
• The records we will be releasing will not be glorifying any such activities so the logo must reflect a brand which will be outspoken, honest and true.
