Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a university spinout based in Dublin called "SepTec". We have developed a microfluidic device (looks like a disc) that can detect bacteria (sepsis) in blood in 15 minutes. We would like to have a design that is modern and looks like a safe medical device that people would trust in. This device could potentially save your life. I have attached a poster of product and the current logo we made up ourselves. We would need this logo for our letter heads, business cards, powerpoint etc

*** We would like a more futuristic modern design with perhaps the microfludic disc involved in the design and we would like the design to look more medical than corporate. The innovation of this device is in the design of the microfludic device itself and how its a disc shape with microchannels and wells. Our other innovation is how we have fabricated the gold electrodes at a nanoscale level and the speed in which we can capture the pathogens/bacteria from whole blood. Our main unique selling point is the speed in which we can capture and detect the microbes with a really high amplification signal from our analyser even from the smallest number of pathogens captured. We also look at Gram +, Gram - and fungal species if that helps in anyway with the design?
