Logo Design Brief
We are opening a funky low-cost boutique hotel in a town centre. The hotel is located up some very steep steps from the main market square, hence the name Ziggurat. See attached photos of Ziggurats, to see these amazing structures with lots of steps!
Several Ziggurats were built in Mexico by the Mayans, who were an incredibly intelligent civilisation. We will be using some Mayan symbols and Mexican / Mayan objects, fabrics and wall hangings to decorate the interior. See the attached pictures to get an idea of the simple style planned for the bedrooms, bar and restaurant.
The target audience are between 30 and 50, mainly men, and the intention is this hotel is almost the ultimate bachelor pad. It will be a sociable place with an honesty bar, a tequila yurt in the garden and an awesome little restaurant with black and white photos of Ziggurats on the walls.
Marketing will be by word of mouth, no brash tacky advertising, just slowly letting the word spread about this cool new place in town. Everything will be understated - including the front door which will just be painted black or made of old wood, with a lantern either side and a 'Z' or the door to signify this is Ziggurat.

Requirements
Must have
- Needs to work well in black and white, and also on small scale.
- There are two elements to the logo design - one is the word 'Ziggurat', the other is the distinctive 'Z'. The 'Z' can then be used as a stand-alone icon which, for example, can be used to mark the front door to the hotel.
