Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my publishing company, Phronesis Publishing. Phronesis means "practical wisdom." Often the name is followed by the tag line, "Tools you can use." I prefer contemporary, simple, and easy to read logos. The logo needs to be able to be on a 1 inch spine of a book as well. We publish books (print and e-books), and visual tools for people with intellectual disabilities. (www.downsyndromenutrition.com)



Of note: most products we create focus on health promotion, food and activity, and coaching fellow dietitians and other health care professionals interested in working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Target Market(s)

Primary target market: parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Secondary market: health care professionals, teachers, and others who work in this field.

Requirements

Must have

• no more than two colors, though those colors may vary in shade. Must be able to be used in black and white media also.

• Should not be all caps. (It's harder to read for those with lower literacy skills).

Nice to have

• An easy-to-extract portion for smaller book spines. I''d like to have some sort of visual component with the words. Would like to receive high quality files: illustrator or eps files that can be used in print.

Should not have

• Complex fonts, complex or intricate artwork, lots of splash.
