Many thanks. I''m not sure I fully understand your question... I am also wondering if my brief is not clear enough as I have had a very poor response to this project.

My idea is that I will end up with 3 x icons (products, standard projects & special projects (engineered to order)) plus a static illustration of the ''lazy susan'' idea for the standard projects showing that the internal colleagues can pickj and chose which ones they want.

The idea is not that the icon(s) represents the actual products/solutions; its more that they should represent the principal of the three categries i.e. ''products'' could literally be a small pile of ''boxes'' icon, standard projects could be a small number of ''boxes'' which have maybe different colours and/or sizes, special projects must reflect larger business which are much more complex (I don''t know how else to describe this...).

In my example therefore, the ''lazy susan'' would feature the different coloured and sized boxes from which the colleagues can choose. The idea of the lazy susan is that it represents our colleagues from around the world so if the concept of the globe could be incoporated into the lazy susan that would be perfect. 

Note: by ''boxes'' I literally mean like a cardboard box...
