Logo Design Brief
We need a new design for our organization's Logo. We deal with crime and conflict in an Alternative Justice Process, using Restorative Justice Processes. We work with youth and adults who have committed a crime. They are referred directly by Law Enforcement to us to engage in a Restorative Process that is about repairing the harm to those who were harmed, rather than punishing the responsible party. The responsible parties participate in a circle process with trained community volunteers to develop a plan for repairing the harm, The victim is held front and center throughout the process. We also work with people reentering prison into their communities. We believe that supporting those reentering from prison will keep our community safer.
We talk a lot about the ripple effect in the work we do – how conflict and crime has a ripple effect beyond the people involved to their families and communities. So we like the idea of a ripple kind of logo. I’ve also attached a page with three logos from other CJCs.
We talk about how harm affects relationships and connection. We talk a lot about community.
I've attached a document with the work of a friend who tried to create one for us. I like the way it emphasizes Community
The other thing we do is give second chances………
I'm also including a link to our website.
We are changing our name to Community Justice Center (and then is small print - of Northern Chittenden County). serving Essex, Colchester, Milton, Jericho, Underhill and Westford.
We are also interested in two versions of the logo - one sort of square and the other more vertical and elongated.
