Design crowd is known for excellent designs , If the best designers participate you will surely get the best designs. You can select the best design and get it tweaked. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The payment is guaranteed. I've already paid DesignCrowd up front, and we need a website. Doing the "guarantee" on DesignCrowd only guarantees that we can't get a refund if no good designs are submitted. It doesn't guarantee that your design will be picked. Whether or not the project is "guaranteed" has no effect on you, only the design you submit determines whether or not you win the project.

There are a lot of people who post a non guaranteed project to get ideas. If project is not guaranteed they get all those ideas free. You are right , I personally won't benefit if my design doesn't get selected , but if you guarantee the project I know that you are seriously thinking about buying a design and I do have a chance of winning. This is the reason the best designers don't participate or submit their best designs, on a non guaranteed project.

To start a project you have to pay DesignCrowd up front. They hold the payment. Even if a customer is doing this for "free ideas", they would still have to take that idea and pay someone to create it, so it doesn't make sense to do that. I think you guys put too much meaning in the "guarantee". It has nothing to do with how serious someone is and it's not worth all the trouble for a customer to try and subvert the process. DesignCrowd still charges fees so even if we did try to get a refund, we wouldn't get the full amount back. I'm willing to give up the guarantee once we start to get designs submitted that are close to what we're looking for, but by that point it's likely you'll have missed the opportunity to win.
