Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a technology company specialized in the development of SaaS products for the Latin America countries (spanish).

The name of the company is "Smart Monkey Technologies" (it is an LLC, but we do not want the LLC in the logo) and the idea we are looking for the logo is for it to be kind of funny but not so much that it risks to not be taken seriously. Something along a "Smart Monkey" (glasses?) tinkering with technology (computers? cloud? networks?). Feel free to propose what ever idea you may come up with (colors, themes, etc.). Although we have tried to design a logo by ourselves we have discovered that as designers, how to put it softly? let's say we would have starved to death...

The company wants to communicate knowledge, smarts, creativity, pragmatism and a zero-nonsense approach to technology.
