Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for a business

I haven't got anything specific in mind but would like the logo to be simple and sophisticated.

Preferably an image above the name of the company like the examples I uploaded, but its not absolutely necessary. I just can't really think what the image could be exactly, maybe someone can come up with something great.

I'll need the source files so I can make my own edits if desired or if I design a business card for myself. So a format I can edit is a must.
