Logo Design Brief

I have an online record store called GetYourGroove which needs a new Wordpress website and a new logo. Let’s start with the the company logo for GetYourGroove. I will deal with Wordpress webdesign and in a later contest.

You probably noted that I capitalize the GYG in the company name, I have no strong opinions on that, I think it just looks better but if your design looks better with only a starting capital please go ahead.

I want the logo to have a professional, modern look and feel that is immediately recognizable as a record store or at least recognizable as having to do with records (duh!)

The most important use case for the logo is on the yet to be designed Wordpress website (priority no 1!). There are some other uses I can think of like business card, T-shirt, record bag, sticker to go on shipment boxes, letterhead and so on but that is less important for now.

The logo text should be the company name with optional text below that like this:
"Inkoop en Verkoop Elpees en Singles". Optional means I like to have two versions of the logo, one with only the company name an one with the additional text. About the ladditional text, It is in Dutch for the simple reason that my website is targeted for local use only with the single aim to find/attract/contact people who want to sell their records or record collection. In case you might wonder: I am using the Discogs (www.discogs.com) platform to re-sell the records to a worldwide customer base and this part of the business is doing so well that I need to find people who want to sell their record collection so we can add to our inventory.

The text provided below thus is in Dutch and says something like:
Buy and Sell Albums and Singles.
Note the spacing between the left and right part, the left part says what we do (buy and sell), the right part says what products we do that for (albums and singles).


I have uploaded a few recordstore logo's to complete the brief but to be honest I am not impressed with most of them. The uptown vinyl logo is cute but I am sure you can do better!!
