to create a store concept/model that can be carried out in other neighborhoods offering conventional and non-nonconventional- (organic, natural, specialty) items in the food category but have
a strong neighborhood flair for each neighborhood that it is locat
ed – to include attributes that are specific to that area/community. With a strong use of technology
both for selling directly to customers and creating brand recognition through social media and online/offline marketing.
The first location will be in Washington Heights NY with plan to t
ake the concept in other areas in Manhattan. Store size will be relatively small between

4,000 and 6,000 square feet with desirable
outdoor displays for produce in each location,
The market will be the first of a future chain operation that focuses on "revamping" the bodega concept in NYC
–
for lack of a better word. Offering a small convenient corner neighborhood market that has a full line of natural and organic produce, groceries and prepared food.
The bodega is a microcosm - there's such a variety of things that reflect the variety of the city's people
and interests and cultures that you can find all in one store. At b
odegas - somebody actually knows you
- or how you take your coffee - in a city where you can really be anonymous. The bodega is the corner store that makes neighborhoods tangible. This is what we want the branding to reflect but in a new age fashion. Most bodegas in the city have closed or up for sale ... they have turn archaic do to immigrants
running them and no upgrade or modernization has occurred

however, we feel that the need for such
a store is a must in most neighborhoods.
The logo needs to represent the vibe of the area so some research or familiarity with the Washington
Heights/Hudson Heights NY area would be recommended.
The market will be lively - with an emphasis on produce, organic and fresh read to eat foods.
It will offer a wide array of fresh, high-quality perishable foods including an extensive organic and local
produce selection, sustainably rated seafood, organic and grass fed meats, and chef -prepared entrees,
salads, and sides. We will offer more than 400 domestic and imported cheeses, along with a wide selection of wine and spirits and beer. Our artisan bakeries will feature some of th
e finest breads and sweets, and our coffee and juice bars will offer organic coffee and all-natural juices and smoothies. The
market will also offer a full line of organic, ethnic, specialty and convent ional grocery products so you can find everything you need in a 4,000/6,000 sq ft space.
The team is committed to offering our guests both conventional and specialty products that satisfy the needs and desires of every lifestyle (organic, local, gluten free, non-Gmo, vegetarian, vegan, raw, dairy free, fair trade, ethnic, low sodium, sugar free, imported and heart healthy) along with a wide variety of
fresh perishables.
There will be a large offering of prepared foods made on premise
s - that will include, dips, salads, pasta entrees, meat entrees, fish entrees and a wide selection of sides.
The selected name for the market is The Heights Fresh Market but that is open for discussion. We also need a slogan to accompany the name and possible have a Farm association
to it.
