Book Cover Design Brief

Novel is based in Manhattan. It involves the World Trade Center towers and their destruction, the financial markets, international investment banks and Wall Street law firms. There is also an unrequited love story in the midst of the foregoing. The protagonist is a hard working and hard driving individual, but he is naive and, at times, very decent and honest. These characteristics leave him open and exposed when he uncovers a scandal of societal proportions. The work should be somewhat dark and foreboding (I think?) and should leave people eager to dive into what is a fully 600-page epic journey. I have attached a summary of the book hereto. I have also attached the first chapter. I would ask that they be read, which can be done in about 15-20 minutes. I would like the World Trade Centers prominently displayed on the front, and I would like the image of the airliner about to swoop into them--not all the way there, but imminent. I have seen this image on television before and should be an easy find, though I would like the plane blown up bigger so it's more prominent. I think there should be financial data or numbers somewhere on the page. Maybe a man sitting at a desk in frustration, covered in paperwork and working multiple phone-- or something like that. But not comedic. Then something to do with the romance--don't know what it could be. Maybe the eyes of his lover can be found in the smoke billowing out of the twin towers. I'm not sure--I'm not sure of any of this! But maybe when you read the summary and the first chapter, you will have better ideas. Good luck and thank you!

• Should be dark, explosive and foreboding
• Might achieve a better result if their is a contrast. The towers are aflame beside a pretty woman. The burning steel next to the protagonist's lover--something like that.
