Web Design Brief
We are running a homepage design competition to choose a designer who will later code an entire website. Please note, this competition is only for the front page design. There will be an additional payment of $1500 (Australian $AUD) for the complete website design including coding payment.
Front Page: First we need a front page design for our companion animal veterinary hospital. I will use the frontpage design competition to choose a designer for the full website.
Heights Pet Hospital is a companion animal veterinary hospital in Singleton NSW. We provide veterinary medical and surgical treatment for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and reptiles. Mostly dogs and cats.
Our reception is a 120 year old church and the hospital is 6 years old and custom built.
I want the site to be amazing. The sort of thing that could win prizes. The front page should be simple, fun and engaging whilst maintaining a strong sense of professionalism. Simple and elegant visual effects with subtle movement. The winning design will show originality.
Our main demographic is women aged 25 to 44 years old. We are a coal mining town. Most of our money comes from coal miners wives.
The front page must display our phone number and link to our facebook page. Otherwise the front page can have anything. The front page should impress new clients and reassure existing clients.
We pride ourselves on following up everything and caring for pets and their people their entire life. Please see our existing (horrible) website for more details about our business. http://www.heightspet.com/
Incorporate only amazing things from the old website. I hate the old website, so there is probably not much to use. We need something new and amazing.
Fully responsive design.
Characters: We have a logo and animal characters to incorporate into the design. These characters will be used throughout our email and facebook advertising. If they could be used with some movement and sound effects, that would be cool, but nothing too childish or silly.
Live site: please include links to live demo sites if possible.
Please include links to your other work.
Full Website: The successful designer of the frontpage must be able to demonstrate the ability produce a full website. The full website designer will be commissioned after the front page is chosen. We have budgeted for a full website of $1500.
I need to be able to add new articles to the website that will link from email newsletters and facebook, so the full website will need to be something I can modify or add to.
I have a working knowledge of Joomla, Wordpress and html.
The full website will have map, history of the hospital, history of the chapel, links to local services, pet care advice, memorials.
Ideally the winning designer will be able to integrate appointments available with our existing veterinary management software.
Fully responsive design.
