Logo Design Brief

This Company has been in business since 1943.They are the 2nd owners who purchased this business many years ago so they are NOT the original Pedersen & Arnold. The company specializes in Quality Millworks. They do custom cabinets and mantels and have stock mouldings. It's a family owned business (father and son) along with about 5 additional employees.
Please check out their current business card. I need an updated quality look and feel to their logo. We will be doing a brochure once we we've obtained the logo so time is of the essence. One request of the family if we can incorporate if possible the Police officers badge with the #6 (Brother was killed in the line of duty. The son of the officer also works in the business).
