Logo Design Brief
This would be a primary logo for a new building we are renovating. Its a building that will be a community tranformation space. It is in an ethnically diverse area predominantly African American and white. The history of Alton Illinois hold a beautiful story of the underground railroad system where white Altonians would light a lantern showing slaves from Missouri where safe haven could be found in homes throughout Alton on the Mississippi River. The "grey" represents the coming together of white and black and the lantern represents the historical 'welcome'. I'd like a symbol that would look good on a sign outside the building. On a website, business materials, etc.
Subtitle of the Grey Lantern would be "A living room for Alton" or "A living room for locals."
The interior design of the building will be 1920' 30's 40's. And I can attach a picture of the building if it helps. The building was the old historical post office, mostly large marble and stone facade.
