Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for a start up company based on my ultra cool, minimal, and edgy research. The logo should reflect this. I'm especially interested in curvy and fluid shapes, something that suggests motion. Bonus points for anyone that experiments with visual patterns, shape and rhythm.

Visual Motion refers to the complexity of visual moving elements inherent in video games. This research presents novel approaches to design, analyze, and evaluate visual motion in games.

We live in a media saturated landscape and this is most apparent in video games. Some of our most epic moments of satisfaction or frustration now come from the visual communication and feedback games offer. However, the design of game visuals is complex and often referred to as a craft (between art and science). While genre and narrative conventions can offer some guidance, in general visual elements must not be too obvious or too difficult as a means to keep players in the sweet spot. Visual communication problems can still occur, for example when the same visuals are perceived as both satisfying or frustrating by different players. This can become major factor influencing player’s retention and progression through a game. To really solve these kinds of problems, we need a deeper understanding of psychology, human-computer interaction, and how our visual system works.

Stay tuned for recent publications in terms of a game design toolset to adapt visual motion and the effects of visual motion on the player’s experience.

This site presently links to my student web page and I would like to replace the existing "david milam" logo with the visualmotion logo. The current logo size is 634 wide X 147 vertical so I expect something similar. I plan for a web redesign so the logo also needs to be 300dpi or higher.
