Logo Design Brief
Update: We are going to guarantee this project.
The logo is for FlagPatch.com. We sell iron-on embroidered patches of many types (military, biker, funny sayings), but this website will be all about flags. State Flags, World Flags, Pirate Flags, you name it, we have hundreds of designs. I am looking for a bold design that will sit atop a colorful ecommerce store website up in the corner.
We have a short, sweet, memorable URL, so I want the FLAG PATCH emphasized. Ideally it would incorporate or convey that we have a bunch of world flags, but if you have to sacrifice design elements like flags to make the name look cool, so be it. I envision something fun, that looks like it belongs on a box of detergent - you know those big pow! logos they have - Tide, Wisk, Xtra, All. Most of the flag patch websites are too stodgy. We really want a cartoon-POW cool logo, and I emphasize logo over just colored words typed horizontally. We want it to look like an iconic logo, if that makes sense.
What I don't want is anything cutesy. I prefer thick and sharp to rounded and cute. More masculine than feminine. More biker than sewing enthusiast. Fun, but not whimsical. More rock and roll than corporate or plain. Please, nothing plain.
Please nothing with a needle/thread or stitch marks (it's not that kind of embroidery) in the logo. You can see our product at stateflagpatches.com or souvenirpatch.com for reference.

Please, no more submissions that use a flag to form the letter F in Flag Patch. They are all cool looking, but at the end of the day, make it harder to read.

We want to remind everyone to read the brief. Looking for something that belongs on the side of a laundry detergent bottle - Wisk, Tide, big fat bold logos. There are some good designs coming in with skulls and magnifying glasses and rocket ships, and they look cool, but are not really what we are after. Please read the brief and even the discussions.

Thank you all to the many who have submitted so far. We have eliminated a number of very cool designs that are just not what we are after but show obvious talent. The 40 or so not yet eliminated are going to provide us with a very difficult decision. Most of them would be great, 10 of them would work nearly perfect, and it is going to be a very long meeting for the group to pick one. That said, we encourage others to read the brief closely and submit. We will be presenting the finalists to a group and making a choice within a day or two of the contest closing. Excellent work, and you guys have so far really proved the worth of this website. Please submit more - both new people and existing designer. We want a big fun fat pow of a logo. Great job so far.
