Logo Design Brief
We need an exceptional logo for a new online book seller, Blind Cat Books. We sell used and new books on Amazon, EBay, and other sites. The name was chosen because the founder has a blind cat and plans to donate a meaningful % of the company's profits to a blind cat rescue shelter, and possibly to organizations that support the needs of blind children ("Cats For Kids" is the heading for this component of business plan). Cats and books go together quite well (we don't sell coffee, but that completes the typical bibliomaniac's trifecta). Cats roam the aisles and gracefully sleep atop the bookshelves of many libraries and bookstores, displaying a certain independence and dignity that commands respect from us (similar to the effect of the printed page on the lover of books). The animal grace of a blind cat is especially impressive, discounting the occasional slip 'n fall or crash-landing. The logo might include a basic sketch of a blind cat - if you search for images of blind cats online, you'll notice that they're eyelids have been sown shut and look like little buttons or X's. I'm not sure if it makes sense to include a book, as the logo could become cluttered and heavy, whereas our goal is to have a sleek, "sticky" (memorable, stylish, cute, etc.) modern logo that reinforces the name Blind Cat Books without necessarily having to spell it out.

Any and all buyers of books, but especially Amazon and other online shoppers.

Logo Text
(We may not need a slogan, but the name Blind Cat Books should probably be incorporated into the design. It would be alright to merge Blind and Cat if that makes for a better design... as in BlindCat Books).

- I've posted an image below of an abstract sketch of a cat that I recently saw in a theater's pamphlet in NYC. This is only one example, but it's noteworthy for the modern style and the fact that it successfully avoids the traditional, rather bland, cat silhouette used in logos and on a few veterinarians' websites.
