Logo Design Brief

We need a logo designed for a new company called MDG Aviation. We are a flight school. We have an initial logo idea that we like, but we aren't really happy with the Font choices and have no ideas what colors would work here. We like blue colors, but open to suggestions. The letter M doesn't look great, although D and G look OK. Again, changes are welcome.

We don't want a colored version of our initial logo idea. We are looking for someone to take our idea and make it great.

Simplicity is key here.
