Everyone, I've started sending out a few private critiques to the designs I think have the most potential to mesh with the tone of my book. All the rest of you have done magnificent work too. Please know that I understand that and that I am very thankful. I also now feel quite certain that I want the cover to be a nighttime scene. Desert below and starry sky above, no setting sun and no moon even. The one exception would be the jhk567jhk idea; I really love the nighttime clouds in that one, so that one looks and feels just right.
One other thing: I do love camels, but I just don't want any animals or living things in the image.

Everyone does such beautiful work, it will be very difficult to decide.

I would love to make a submission to this. Please give me a couple of days. Thanks :)

Everyone, I'll go ahead and post my decision tomorrow. Please know that I am grateful to everyone, and I think everyone does magnificent work. Really the only criterion that matters for me is the connection between the tone of my book and the emotion evoked by the design. And I'm pretty sure I know which one that is. Thank you all!!!
