We are seeking a logo design for “The Winthrop”, a new luxury apartment community being developed in Towson, MD. Towson is the seat of Baltimore County government, two colleges and a regional medical center. Suburban Baltimore’s premier retail center is across the street from the property, and other retail, food and entertainment is within an easy walk. Property will be a 295-unit mid-rise building with attached structured parking. Architecture is “urban contemporary.” High-end materials will be utilized in the apartment interiors, such as granite counters/breakfast bars, brushed nickel fixtures, tile floors, high-end wood cabinetry, ceramic tile, and 9-ft. ceilings.
The target renter is a college graduate who will choose to live in Towson over downtown Baltimore. Renters lead a highly social, active lifestyle. Our residents will likely have roots in Baltimore County – many grew up within 5 miles of the property, went to high school nearby (where many played lacrosse) and work within the area.
The property is designed to appeal to that demographic. The Resident’s Club has multiple gathering areas. There are two large courtyards – one featuring a pool and grills, the other a hammock garden. The property has a fitness center, separate yoga/spinning rooms, and bicycle storage/workspace. A unique feature is Studio W – a sound isolated space where residents can party, play music and enjoy the company of friends from inside the community and outside. The Winthrop also has a Game Room with card tables, billiards and bar games and a Business Center.
The two-story entry conveys an environmentally-conscious vibe, in keeping with the LEED Silver construction standards. There’s a reflecting pool and a living wall adjoining the stairway sweeping up to the second floor common areas.
