Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for an existing company. The name of the company is, DTFP INC., which is an acronym for "Danny the Fucking Plumber". The name is well liked by our customers but we dont want a logo that simply reflects the meaning of the company name.
Instead we would like to have the Logo reflect more of the differences between our company and a traditional plumbing company.
A brief Profile:
In addition to the services that one would expect from a traditional plumbing company our company provides many other services not normally assoiciated with smaller plumbing companies. These services come in the form of intangables like ad-hock architectual and workflow desgin, engineering, system diagnostics, customer resources, plumbing desgin and code compliance expertise.
Our company intends to take full advantage of networked terminal services, networked commications technologies and barcoded inventory management that are again unusual for smaller plumbing companies. Some of these technolgies will come in the form of ruggedized tablets running customized android software applications. They will be able to provide technicians with tools and information to use at home or in the field. Our plumbers are tech savy and so are our customers.
The name of our company is playfull and you can incorporate a little playfullness in the design. But stay away from anything crude or suggestive.
For those who are not aware plumbing is a field where problem solving is a daily activity. Its not uncommon to return home tired from too much thinking. Plumbing is also about bringing different disconnected systems together as a whole.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Thank you all for your submissions. I'm extending the deadline for this contest in the hopes of seeing submissions more true to the design requirements of the Logo. Some of you submitted designs that incorporated all the required elements and it shows not only in the design but how you presented and desribed your design. I will be sending a message to all desginers and hopeflly providing you with some examples of what i was hoping for. Again thanks for your efforts so far.

Requirements
Must have
- We would like a logo to be sophisticated and clever. Incorporating the company name within or connected to a symbol or group of symbols. Symbols can be abstract or conceptual. Our customers likely own an Eames Chair and will appreiciate classic modern design elements.
Plumbing concepts are various including mechanical, flow-velocity and fluidity also correlation (problem solvng), interconnection and physics.
We want a logo to convey the sense of a smart (clever), intelligent and diverse company. My personal tastes are towards thin, spaced or narrowed modern fonts with combinations of bolding, size and direction.
Nice to have
- Perhaps hidden words or phrases. Examples might be: smart plumbing, design, diagnostics or something that the brief profile above inspires. For your 1st submission this would be more about interesting placement than coming up with a suitable tag line.
Should not have
- Do not include traditonal images and clip art normally associated with plumbing companies, such as dripping faucets, toilets with happy faces, tools or men in uniform. Try to stay away from bulky bolded fonts or script. There are very few that we like.
