I am looking for a logo for Rocky Road Farm, which is the small horse farm I run on the side of my "real" job.
I generally breed 1-2 foals per year (very, very small scale). I breed small-sized warmbloods specializing in dressage. The horses I sell are fairly expensive, so the logo should reflect a high quality product. That said, my buyers tend to be women who also ride/show horses as a hobby, not as a profession.
I want to use the logo primarily on my website (http://www.rockyroadfarm.com), in print ads of my horses for sale, business cards, and it’s very important to me that this logo be obvious and simple enough that it can be embroidered onto specialty horse items (saddle pads, hats, sweatshirts, etc.). I’d like to give a t-shirt or something to each person who ends up buying a horse from me.
I have attached my horrible renderings of the direction I've considered...basically an abstract horse head made of rocks. I'm definitely open to a completely different direction or idea, if something fits better.

Requirements
Must have
- - The logo should be obviously be a horse/horse related.
- - The logo should be simple enough to embroider easily.
Nice to have
- - I'd love for the logo to work as a stand alone logo (by dropping the wordmark) if necessary
- - Most of the print ads will be grayscale, so something that works well in both color and grayscale.
Should not have
- - Nothing overly trendy or complicated.
