Logo Design Brief

Need a logo for a new music / tech company based in NYC. We have chosen an icon & geometric design we like and want to go with but need some help...

The design shape we have chosen looks good on a backdrop (see example) however it appears under developed on other platforms such as on business cards (example 2) and plain back grounds.

Need something done to make this pop. Perhaps detail to this concept may solve the problem, or adding other simple geometric elements could work as well.

We would like to maintain the overall "H" + headphones just need it to look more professional for official / business use when presented on social platforms, merchandise ect

very open / flexible as far as creative direction.
