Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our web app, Flylit.

Flylit is a service for teen readers. It's really cool and fun to use. We're aiming it at teen girls. We want the logo to give a sense of a literary presence that's young and new and fresh, yet formidable.

We're looking for a logo that uses a lowercase serif font and has a firefly as the "dot" over the "i" in Flylit.

The firefly is the most important part of the design for us. It will serve as the Icon on the main screen of an IPad or other readers, so it needs to be unique and identifiable.

A variation on a scientific illustration might work - or something else! But we'd like it to be clear that the abdomen of the firefly is lit up.

We'd also like to see how the fly might work from different angles - i.e. from, above, from the side, straight on, etc.

The pallete we've been working in is a teal background with the belly of the firefly in yellow... I am including an image of the logo we now have. We like the font, but need a better firefly...

It's also possible that the firefly could have wings that look like book pages...
