Web Design Brief
We are launching new and dynamic digital/mobile products as companions to the traditional print version of Best of Las Vegas. The Best of Las Vegas, printed annually for the past 30 years, is a well recognized brand, and we expect the new digital and mobile companions that are in development to further leverage the brand with more timely, useful and interesting information that appeals to readers on a weekly and even daily basis. This design project description is specifically for the new website.
The utilities below will eventually be part of both the digital and mobile versions and should be factored into your design:
-Calendars: entertainment and deeper community content
-Reviews: expert, user generated and staff generated, etc.
-The Best: a more dynamic version of the traditional product
-Deals: aggregation of coupons, vouchers, etc.
-Contests: improve reader submission, interaction, etc.
-News: assembling the best news in the Valley and generating our own unique content
-Personalization: because what is ‘best’ depends on personal preference and also changes for individuals based on varying circumstances
Feel free to consult the existing website (www.bestoflasvegas.com) and an eReader version of the legacy print product (www.reviewjournal.com/ads/_adOps/BOLV-2011FlipBook/) to get a sense of the basic content type and some historical context. However, please do not let either of these examples inform your web design. We want a new look for this site so consumers recognize it for what it is, something new.
Updates
This job is guaranteed payment and I haven't seen anything close yet. In general, have only seen new versions of the old site. Want a totally new look. Still 10 days to go - hoping someone will come up with a new color palette, menu design and user interface. Thanks.
