Flyer Design Brief

Community Forklift is a nonprofit reuse center for home improvement supplies. We pick up donations of unwanted and salvaged building materials throughout the metro DC region. Then, we make the building materials available to the public at low cost, and provide vintage materials for restoring old homes. We also offer public education about reuse, and distribute free supplies to local nonprofits and neighbors in need.
Each year we host a large scale event, our annual Garden Party, that focuses on the "renewal of the seasons and the renewal of our salvaged building materials". It’s a fun-filled day when we offer up a ton of landscaping and garden supplies, and host gardening demonstrations, local experts and vendors, local bands, and a farm-to-fork food truck.
As this event draw near (April 2nd) we need to start getting rack cards out to our fans and neighbors. We're looking for a new design that will highlight the connection between springtime, gardening, and environmental sustainability as well as our reclaimed building materials and architectural salvage.
This rack card should be bright and whimsical to draw attention to the fun (and oftentimes quite silly) nature of this event. This event is aimed at families and adults alike and should catch the attention of a wide range of folks from various backgrounds (we are in a very diverse area and we cherish and celebrate that diversity in all of our programs).
The card should include the following wording:

We are looking for original graphics that will reflect our quirky personality. Not a corporate looking card with photos and sleek modern lines.
