I am a newly licensed Architect in Louisiana, and have recently opened my own architectural design business. My primary focus is residential design, but I also work on small scale commercial (ex: business offices, dental offices, salons, retail, etc)I do not have strong feelings about a specific color concept, but do love black, white, gray, with a single pop of color.I like simple designs that involve the JSA letters only as an option, as well as something with a very sketchy simple style logo to place above or beside my full name. My residential design style in architecture tends to be somewhat traditional with a contemporary twist; and my commercial design style leans a little more towards modern/contemporary design. In residential design, I take lots of inspiration from the following styles: old farmhouse, New England Style, Antebellum homes - specific architectural elements that I gravitate towards are interior and exterior board and batten siding, large plank hard wood flooring, simplified door and window trim (rosettes and fluted trim at the most ornate), bulky wood corbels, large dormers, interesting ceiling design such as sloping ceilings that mimic the exterior roof lines, square wood columns around porches, heavy porch beams with some trim-work, wood ceilings, large windows with transoms. I like lots of white finishes, interior and exterior, to brighten up the spaces.I do not care for logos that display a very obvious sketch of a house or roof, but I am a big fan of abstract art (paintings & sculpture), so an abstract house/building form may work.
