Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new travel/expedition company based in Southern Oregon.
We plan to offer hosted expeditions around the world and regionally in Northern California. Initial offerings will include treks to Mt. Everest Base Camp, a safari and climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, trekking the inca trail, Fly-fishing in British Columbia and wilderness skills camps and fly-fishing camps in Northern California.
The idea for the company is to 'go beyond' typical life spiritually and physically.

We would like to see logo designs that hint at the excitement and possibility that lies beyond. We gravitate toward designs that are simple. A mountain logo is one possibility (Patagonia, Sierra Designs) and our local mountain is Mt. Shasta.
A river or sun logo may also work, but we are very open to something outside the box.
