Logo Design Brief

We would like a logo for the website themilesprofessor.com. Please visit the website to get an idea of our content and layout. The pieces of artwork should contain the following:
1. A logo artwork incorporating the site title 'The Miles Professor' to be used on business cards, pens, refrigerator magnets with scenery photos in the background or keychain.
2. The header to be used on the website containing the logo incorporated into the website header. The website header may contain other art in addition to the logo and should be wide enough to fit the website.

The Miles Professor provides financial and travel advice on signing up for credit cards, earning frequent flyer miles and using those miles for luxury travel. The website is for Individuals interested in travel on how to optimize frequent flyer miles for trips to nice destinations such as the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii. The focus is travel, but the writing is done by a former female math professor so there is also some focus on building itineraries intelligently and calculating cost. While we plan to make some design developments in the future, we want to maintain elegance and the perception of intelligence that our site currently communicates. Our business model involves marketing credit cards so the logo should be serious enough that it is in line with financial and credit card advice.

Target Market(s)

Educated, intelligent individuals age 25-50 that enjoy travel and planning and optimizing their trips. We have similar audience as the publications Conde Nast or Travel and Leisure, though on the younger side.

Requirements

Must have

• The logo should contain the title 'The Miles Professor'
  
  It's important that the font not be plain and be artistic/elegant/feminine.
  
  The logo must stand out when used on a landscape background so it cannot be too light in color.

Nice to have

• We would like if the title 'The Miles Professor' can be worked into the logo artwork and be the centerpiece focus of the logo.
  
  It is optional if the tagline 'Taking miles and points to the limit!' can fit as a smaller caption on the header (being a much smaller focus than the main title), but not necessary if compromises appearance.

Should not have

• We don't like the colors yellow, orange, green, peach or any version of neon colors.
  
  We also don't like the logo to look sporty or masculine. The site theme focuses on intelligence and elegance.
