Logo Design Brief

This logo is for a "startup" and "newspace" rocket company. The logo should represent the space/high tech theme, as well as the spirit of a new approach embodied in newspace companies (research SpaceX and Virgin Galactic as companies that are similar to this new startup).

The name of the company will be "Firefly Inc." It will have two divisions: Space Systems and Energy Systems. The Space systems division will produce rocket engines and spacecraft. The Energy Systems division will produce products used to mine resources (e.g., oil, gas) and alternative energy products (e.g., geothermal).

Please check out some of the graphics that I have uploaded as a start for logo brainstorming. I am not a graphic artist, but hopefully this will give you a sense of what I like: simple, cool, two color (black and lightning bug fluorescent yellos/green in this case). My hack at a logo shows a blend of rocket and firefly (i.e., lightning bug). I just used a font that was available in illustrator. I would like the new logo font to have a more distinctive, original high tech feel. Check out SpaceX's logo, which is more along the lines of what I like.

The Base logo should just say "firefly", perhaps with a rocket graphic similar to what I've included. I think that the logo needs to be more compact than the logo I created (the one with the rocket in a vertical orientation). It would be good if the logo can be (later) modified to include the Division (e.g., "Space Systems").
