Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. I will provide a revised design soon.
Right now I am struggling between "complement" vs. "independence". To what extent would like the design to resemble your original's website style? Or would you be okay with the idea of designing something quite different but works better for a eCommerce site, and change your corporate's website later to complement the eCommerce site?
Let me know what you think,
Thanks!
Eric
The best way I can describe it is that the two sites should be in the same "family" but the eCommerce should stand alone as it's own site (it has it's own direct url). The original site has a link "go shopping" that leads to the eCommerce site and therefore, the eCommerce site should be focused on selling, rather than being an informational site. I think for instance, the eCommerce site should have eCommerce elements: Category Menu for products, Call to actions for purchasing products, banners, shopping carts, etc. Examples of what's not necessary to be on the eCommerce site is: Vertical Markets, About us paragraph, Mission statement, etc.
So yes, focus on the eCommerce site. You have full creative authority. If the design is compelling enough, it's quite possible I would adjust the corporate website because at the end of it all, I intend to have cohesiveness between the two..
