Logo Design Brief

An old high-end private club in the process of major renovations and re-establishing itself in one of the most affluent counties in NJ looking for a fresh, modern, yet elegant logo design. The logo will be used on signage throughout the club, stationary and embroidered apparel, headwear and accessories for sale. It should be able to be used with or without the full name "Edgewood Country Club". I am open to ideas for establishing club colors but it should have the ability to be one color.
The club is currently creating a new website but for more information/history you may go to www.edgewoodnj.com.

Possible ideas are a bird with a golf flagstick and flag clenched in its beak. In the images i uploaded of the birds maybe use the bird's wings to form the letter E with the bird's wings. The fox logo is simply something that caught my eye in terms of a simple but intriguing design.
