Logo Design Brief
NOTE: This project is winding down, with final decision expected to be made Friday, July 12. After that point, I will be working with the winner(s) on refinements to the design. While all designs are welcome at any time until the July 19th deadline, please note that only very exceptional designs will change the consideration at the last minute.
My name is Rachel Livingood. I'm a new lawyer. My business is called "Livingood Law, PLLC."
I would like a logo that is creative enough to stand out, but dignified enough to blend in with legal culture. I would like to avoid being too stuffy and corporate. The law office is located in a small town. I have something of a general practice, including family and elder law. I want a logo that reflects a clean, simple, approachable image.
I prefer logos that are simplified to the point of abstraction (or just simple symbolism) and letter-based logos. Aim for having the logo be able to fit on the face of an app, but not necessarily that small....
Starting Points:
1. Exploit the meaning of "Livingood." You can be inspired by the Life is Good brand. Imagine what Life is Good would be like if it were a professional law firm and didn't have font that appeared to be written by a child.
2. Nature-based. I love nature symbols. What they have to do with practicing law, I'm not sure, but make one of those and I will probably be happy. Examples: Tree, Mountain, river, etc.
3. Simple and elegant. Like Japanese block art. Beautiful and sparse.
Checklist:
Is PLLC somewhere on the logo?
Is PLLC extremely small?
Can you put this logo in front of a judge?
Is the business name spelled correctly?
Please submit designs in vector.
NO USE OF STOCK IMAGES please
Updates
Based on the quality of your designs, I have chosen to commit the $200 prize to the winner. To respect your creativity, I am being upfront with each of you and eliminating designs I am not likely to choose. If you're still in, there's a good chance you will be selected. Please note I have left feedback for each of you and welcome you to continue submitting new designs or suggested modifications.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: This project has been extended by 7 days to allow time for designers to finish current drafts and to provide time to tweak the current winner(s) for final submission(s).
During this time, I will ask for modifications to refine the winning design(s) for actual use for the law firm. I will attempt to both eliminate and select design(s) as early as feasible to respect your time. I am also opening a poll among my colleagues to select the winning design and appoint any second and third place designs as desired. I will try to provide each of you with detailed constructive feedback and ratings.
Thank you for your creative talent. I look forward to notifying the winner(s) as soon as possible!
