Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a new company that specializes in Firearm Training. The logo should be based on a "texas ranger" type star (a circle around a 5 point star) with a patriotic symbol in the center of the "star". I also like the patriot symbol in our current logo patriotacademy dot net. Needs to be cool, powerful and bold. The star can be either gold or silver...whatever works best.
