Logo Design Brief
1/6/16 Please see uploaded file for an example for a "Brushed Stroke" font I'd like to consider. This isn't a must have.
1/4/16 IMPORTANT MESSSAGE FOR ARTISTS ! ! ! !
The attached tracing is simply a concept for an artist to start from. What we're looking for is an artistic styleized version. Please resist duplicating it as a model. Thank you !

Re: 21st Century Biker Logo Project
The first round of submittals for this logo project provided some excellent work! I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the time and creative effort everyone put into their work. Thank You!
Having gone through that process I’ve realized three important aspects that weren’t interpreted as I had hoped. Please review this outline in the hopes it may inspire you.
FIRST: The 21st Century Biker logo could be a STAND ALONE (abstract) or UNIVERSAL image/graphic/icon/mark . It’s either something that Stands Alone, with no notable association to motorcyclists or something that’s universal to all motorcyclists.
Stand Alone: This direction has no notable association to motorcyclists or motorcycles. This is where an artists’ creative imagery comes into play. Keep in mind it needs to be scalable and align with the second and third aspect outlined below. This would have to be an outstanding design/concept to overshadow the unversal approach that's being considered but the door is open . . .
UNIVERSAL: The premise for this approach is to visually identify an interface between a person and the motorcycle they’re riding. For example (see .jpg attachments) I’ve photographed my own hand wrapped around the throttle grip of my motorcycle (including the front brake lever) then traced the outline to provide the concept. I imagine a stylized line drawing that lends itself to a genderless graphic. I’m open to alternative approaches to this concept but for the life of me I can’t imagine a foot on a peg or a butt on a seat being as sensual as a hand on the throttle. What do you see?
SECOND: The COLOR(s) of the logo has (have) yet to be determined. This is an area for the pros to conjure up. Read through the PRESS RELEASE to gain a broader “global” understanding behind the 21st Century Biker and include your intrepretation with your submittal. BTW: Black and White isn’t it!
THIRD: The FONT for “21st Century Biker”, that needs to accompany the logo, hasn’t been selected. What I have in mind, a guide post if you will, includes:
* curves (twisty roads)
* undefined edges (freedom)
* has an emphasis on “Biker” (the focus is the person)
* 21st is reflected with lower case “st” (makes it easier to read)
* needs to tie into the color of the logo (symmetry)
The winning Logo will be integrated into project 1558719, a graphic to be used on the first shirt for the 21st Century Biker.
We're very excited and looking forward to working with you on this guranteed project.
PRESS RELEASE:
21st Century Biker is slated to become a Docu-Style Reality TV Show featuring people who have a passion for riding motorcycles. We share their passion by telling their stories, showing the world who they are and why they ride. The story comes full circle when we show you the bikes they ride, the roads they travel and the places they stop along the way.
Look back into the 20th century when Marlon Brando played Johnny Strabler in the “The Wild One”. Released in 1953, this movie contributed to society’s view of bikers as they watched rival motorcycle gangs terrorize a small town after one of their leaders is thrown in jail. Step outside of Hollywood, where reality overshadows fiction, to find some bikers joining forces to form gangs and motorcycle clubs. Contributing to a notorious biker image, where in truth, what they look like doesn’t say who they are. Although that image of the 20th century biker remains alive and well today, bikers of the 21st century are seamlessly morphing from nearly every aspect of society.
Today the 21st Century Biker encompasses one of the broadest spectrums of people in the world. We are a diverse multi-ethnic, socio-economic cross section of retirees, military, blue, white, pink collar workers, women, men boys and girls, all of whom love to ride.
21st Century Biker® breaks through the old stereotyping of bikers by introducing real people, in real life situations and circumstances who simply love to ride. It brings to light those bikers who successfully make their marks in life through
family, education, careers and adventures. We’re here to provide a channel for people with a passion for riding, the opportunity to tell their unique story and show the world who they are through a weekly TV series.
21st Century Biker - People with a passion for riding, the bikes they ride, the roads they travel and the places they stop along the way.
