Packaging Design Brief
We require a design for packaging for products in the retail hardware range. Initially this will be for a set of header cards for abrasive sanding discs but we plan to add other items to the range so we are looking for a range of brand elements that can be extended to other types of packaging.
The brand name is "Impact Point" and we are looking for a black or dark grey background with a subtle fine pattern to break up the solid colour. This part of the design needs to be 'expandable' so that it can be used on different pack sizes as we increase the range. Two highlight or complimentary colours will add a bit of impact and become part of the brand style.
For printing purposes we have allowed for 4 colour process plus two spot colours and we have attached one of the header card dielines as a guide.

This project is just about to close so I just want to say a thank you to all the designers who submitted a design to our Hardware Brand Packaging Design Project. I was impressed by the generally high standard of submissions. I didn't give a lot of feedback other than answering a few questions as I realize that you are all busy people and that while the competition submission is one way that you bid for new business, I did not want to get be getting multiple designers doing revisions out of respect for your time. My preference was to wait until the competition closes and then work with the winning design / designer to make any required refinements. Thank you all once again.

- *The brand name "Impact Point" should appear in the top left hand corner and we had in mind that the word would be a shiny metal / chrome appearance in could be in the shape of a shield or spear point but are open to any other suggestions.The word can be on one line or one above the other.
*Between the bottom of the hanger hole and the edge of the card is the words ABRASIVES & ACCESSORIES
*We want a performance guarantee device circle / seal or other in the bottom left quartile of the front facing panel. Circle device on attachment shows approx position.
* The right hand 25mm of the card is to be devoted to specific information about the product in the pack. This will be done by an adhered over-sticker ( see attached die-line No 2 )
* 3 line address panel or rear of card - XYZ Abrasives, 123 Street, West Auckland, New Zealand.
* Also somewhere on rear panel "Cut, Quality Checked & Packed in New Zealand from imported materials."
Nice to have
- It would be good, but not essential, to see a rough mock-up of how this design would transfer across to a box approx 80mm across the front, 100mm deep and 250mm high.
