We do not have any preference for an illustration vs. another graphic design. We are looking for what strikes the designers as the best way to convey the feel of the music. The image should work well in the small size for CD covers on iTunes and in Spotify, but will also be used in a larger side so should scale up. As for the format, we need a JPG and the other typical file formats.

This design definitely better reflects the lyrics of the song and we appreciate you listening to it to understand the song. The image, though reads a little heavy metal, and RJ's brand is more Americana. Also, the song is about more than just drinking and I'm afraid the image just suggests alcoholic. We think the cover will need to be a bit more of an illustration to convey more texture and depth than a single image, if that makes sense. If you look at the cover for RJ's band's first album you will see what I mean about a cover that tells more of a story. If you google Dance Hall Pimps Beast for Love, you will see what I mean. The second album, The Dead Don't Walk, has a bit simpler of a cover, but it also conveys more of a story. I understand if you don't want to submit again because what we are looking for is a little more labor intensive.
