Logo Design Brief

We make honey wine (called 'mead') using locally honey (and not grapes) from the southern U.S. Some are plain, some lightly spiced (vanilla, orange peel, anise, etc), some are with fruits (blueberry or blackberry). This is a fun handcrafted alcohol beverage that tends to compete more with beer more than wine. The company is named "Sweet Magnolia Craft Meadery".

We are suggesting a logo geared toward a classic style, organic, premium/luxury product that communicates friendship, fun, nature/outdoors, and/or romance (see "notes..." file. Feel free to google "Meadery" or "microbrewery Logo" for examples. Obviously symbols/simple drawings such as a southern magnolia flower(s), a bee(s), honey, sunsets/sunshine (the south), hexagons, and/or hives would be great. Clearly we value you, the artist's, discretion. This will eventually be part of a label (smaller wine bottles) but compete with craft beer...would love to retain same designer to eventually help with label if possible. Thank you!!

P.S. We are providing examples of our competitors logos and wish to distinguish ourselves from them. The last file is an example of our first logo...it has been criticized for looking too "Clip Art"...not organic or suggestive of a premium/luxury product. Finally..and MOST IMPORTANT...we put together some ideas to guide or to further fuel your creative process.

Target Market(s)

Our target market is aimed toward people who enjoy craft beverages...slightly toward women with above-average incomes but only slightly so. We also market to weddings (the term "honey moon" is thought to have come from the practice of parents, long ago, giving newlyweds mead for one month to promote grandchildren) and people who like to use products from the local area.

Should not have

• Anything related to drunkeness (we prefer to be imbibed and enjoyed...not drunk). The term "Buzzed" is overused.
• Avoid wine color..light purple.
